Description

This classic Guacamole recipe is creamy, fresh, and full of vibrant flavor from ripe avocados, lime juice, and simple mix-ins. Perfect as a dip, topping, or spread.


Ingredients

  • 3 ripe avocados
  • 1 lime, juiced
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup diced onion
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1 small tomato, seeded and diced
  • 1 garlic clove, minced (optional)
  • 1 jalapeño, seeded and finely chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cut the avocados in half, remove the pits, and scoop the flesh into a bowl.
  2. Add lime juice and salt, then mash with a fork or potato masher to your desired consistency.
  3. Stir in onion, cilantro, tomato, and optional garlic and jalapeño.
  4. Taste and adjust seasoning with more salt or lime juice as needed.
  5. Serve immediately, or cover with plastic wrap pressed directly on the surface to prevent browning.

Notes

  • Use ripe avocados that yield slightly to gentle pressure for best texture.
  • Leave out tomato for a smoother guacamole or include it for extra freshness.
