Description

Ground Beef Tacos are a quick and classic Mexican-American favorite made with seasoned ground beef, crisp taco shells, and your favorite toppings for an easy and satisfying weeknight meal.


Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (if needed)
  • 1 packet taco seasoning (or 2 tablespoons homemade seasoning)
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 8 small taco shells (hard or soft)
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup sour cream (optional)
  • 1/4 cup salsa or hot sauce (optional)
  • Chopped cilantro, diced onions, or avocado for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat. Add olive oil if needed, then brown the ground beef, breaking it up with a spatula, until fully cooked (about 7–8 minutes).
  2. Drain excess grease if necessary. Add taco seasoning and water, stir to combine, and simmer for 3–5 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  3. While the beef simmers, warm taco shells according to package instructions.
  4. Fill each taco shell with seasoned beef and top with lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, and any other desired toppings.
  5. Serve immediately with salsa, sour cream, or avocado if desired.

  • Use lean ground beef (90/10 or 93/7) for a healthier option.
