Description

These juicy and flavorful ground beef kebabs are perfect for grilling or baking in the oven. They’re made with simple ingredients and come together quickly, making them great for weeknight dinners or weekend cookouts. Serve with rice, salad, or warm pita for a delicious and satisfying meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef (85% lean)

  • 1 small onion, grated

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped

  • 1 tsp ground cumin

  • 1 tsp ground coriander

  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika

  • 1/2 tsp ground black pepper

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1 tbsp olive oil (for brushing)

  • Optional: chili flakes for a spicy kick

Instructions

  1. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat, or preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

  2. In a large bowl, mix the ground beef, grated onion, minced garlic, parsley, cumin, coriander, paprika, black pepper, and salt until well combined.

  3. Divide the mixture into 6–8 portions. Shape each portion into a long kebab shape, about 1-inch thick, around metal or soaked wooden skewers.

  4. Brush each kebab lightly with olive oil to prevent sticking.

  5. Grill method: Place kebabs on the hot grill and cook for 8–10 minutes, turning occasionally, until browned and cooked through.

  6. Oven method: Place kebabs on a lined baking sheet and bake for 18–20 minutes, flipping halfway through. For a charred finish, broil during the last 2–3 minutes.

  7. Remove from heat and let rest for 2–3 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • You can add chopped mint or cilantro for extra flavor.

  • For extra juicy kebabs, don’t overwork the meat mixture.

  • Serve with tzatziki, hummus, or garlic sauce.

  • These also work well in wraps or over rice bowls.
