Description

A simple, hearty dish combining savory ground beef with tender Brussels sprouts, perfect for a quick and nutritious weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 lb Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce (optional)
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add diced onion and cook until softened, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Add garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
  4. Add ground beef to the skillet, season with salt, pepper, and paprika, and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon.
  5. Once beef is cooked, add Brussels sprouts to the skillet and stir to combine.
  6. Cover and cook for 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until Brussels sprouts are tender.
  7. Uncover, add soy sauce and red pepper flakes if using, and cook for another 2-3 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
  8. Remove from heat and serve hot.

Notes

  • You can use ground turkey or chicken as a leaner alternative to beef.
  • For extra flavor, sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese before serving.
  • Add a splash of balsamic vinegar for a tangy finish.
