This classic green bean casserole is a creamy, comforting side dish that’s perfect for the holidays—or any day you’re craving something warm and hearty. Made with tender green beans, a rich mushroom sauce, and crispy fried onions on top, it’s always a crowd favorite.
Ingredients

1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup

3/4 cup milk

1/8 tsp black pepper

4 cups cooked green beans (fresh or canned, drained)

1 1/3 cups crispy fried onions, divided

Optional: 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese (for a cheesy twist)
Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

In a large mixing bowl, stir together the cream of mushroom soup, milk, black pepper, and 2/3 cup of the fried onions.

Add the green beans and stir until well coated.

Pour the mixture into a 9×9-inch or similar-sized baking dish.

Bake uncovered for 25 minutes.

Remove from oven, stir the casserole, then sprinkle the remaining fried onions on top.

Return to oven and bake for another 5 minutes, or until the onions are golden and crispy.
