Description

A savory Mediterranean twist on the classic burger, featuring seasoned lamb patties, creamy tzatziki, and fresh vegetables in warm pita or buns.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground lamb
  • 1/2 red onion, grated
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tbsp fresh mint, chopped
  • 1/4 cup crumbled feta cheese
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 burger buns or pita bread
  • 1/2 cup tzatziki sauce
  • Lettuce leaves
  • 4 slices of tomato
  • 4 slices of red onion

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground lamb, grated red onion, minced garlic, parsley, oregano, cumin, mint, crumbled feta, salt, and pepper.
  2. Mix gently until just combined to avoid overworking the meat.
  3. Form into 4 evenly sized burger patties.
  4. Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat and brush with olive oil.
  5. Cook patties for 4-5 minutes per side, or until desired doneness.
  6. Toast buns or pita bread lightly.
  7. Assemble burgers with tzatziki, lettuce, tomato, and red onion.
  8. Serve immediately with desired sides.

Notes

  • Substitute lamb with ground beef or turkey if preferred.
  • Add chopped kalamata olives to the patties for more flavor.
  • Use lettuce wraps instead of buns for a low-carb option.
  • Top with grilled eggplant or roasted red peppers for extra texture.
