Description

A gourmet twist on the classic grilled cheese sandwich, this version combines creamy goat cheese with a drizzle of honey and a hint of spice for a sweet and savory treat.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 2 slices sourdough or rustic bread
  • 2 oz goat cheese
  • 1 tsp honey
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tbsp butter, softened
  • Optional: pinch of black pepper or chopped fresh herbs (like thyme or basil)

Instructions

  1. Spread the goat cheese evenly on one side of a slice of bread.
  2. Drizzle honey over the goat cheese and sprinkle with red pepper flakes (and optional black pepper or herbs).
  3. Top with the second slice of bread to form a sandwich.
  4. Spread butter on the outside of both slices of bread.
  5. Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook the sandwich for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and the cheese is warmed through.
  6. Remove from heat, let rest for a minute, then slice and serve warm.

Notes

  • Use good quality bread for the best texture and flavor.
  • You can add thin apple slices or caramelized onions for extra depth.
  • Adjust the amount of honey and spice to suit your taste.
