Description

Tender carrots coated in a glossy, buttery-sweet glaze make these glazed carrots a simple yet elegant side dish perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 500 g carrots, peeled and sliced into rounds or sticks
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp honey or maple syrup
  • 1 tsp brown sugar (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional for garnish)


Instructions

  1. Heat butter and olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat until melted and bubbling.
  2. Add carrots, season with salt and pepper, and cook for 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they begin to soften and lightly brown.
  3. Stir in honey and brown sugar if using. Mix to coat the carrots evenly.
  4. Cover and cook for another 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until carrots are tender and glaze has thickened.
  5. Uncover and cook 1–2 more minutes for a stickier glaze, if desired.
  6. Adjust seasoning and garnish with chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

  • Can be made vegan by substituting butter with vegan margarine.
  • Add a splash of orange juice or zest for a citrus twist.
