Description

This rich and creamy German Chocolate Fudge combines the classic flavors of sweet chocolate, coconut, and pecans into a decadent, melt-in-your-mouth treat. It’s easy to make and perfect for holiday trays, potlucks, or just when you’re craving something sweet and indulgent.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups semisweet chocolate chips

  • 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk

  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1/4 tsp salt

  • 1 cup chopped pecans

  • 1 cup sweetened shredded coconut

  • 1/2 cup evaporated milk

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed

  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (for topping)

  • 2 large egg yolks

Instructions

  1. Prepare the pan: Line an 8×8-inch or 9×9-inch baking dish with parchment paper and set aside.

  2. Make the chocolate base: In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt the chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, 1/4 cup butter, vanilla extract, and salt. Stir continuously until smooth and fully melted.

  3. Pour and spread: Pour the chocolate mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.

  4. Make the coconut-pecan topping: In a separate saucepan, combine evaporated milk, brown sugar, 1/4 cup butter, and egg yolks. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens (about 10–12 minutes).

  5. Add coconut and pecans: Remove from heat and stir in shredded coconut and chopped pecans.

  6. Top the fudge: Spread the coconut-pecan mixture evenly over the fudge base.

  7. Chill: Refrigerate the fudge for at least 3 hours or until firm.

  8. Serve: Once set, cut into squares and enjoy!

Notes

  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 week.

  • For cleaner cuts, use a warm knife.

  • Toasting the pecans adds an extra layer of flavor.
