Description

These Garlic Butter Honey BBQ Beef Tacos are loaded with tender, juicy ground beef coated in a rich blend of garlic butter, smoky BBQ sauce, and sweet honey. Served in warm tortillas and topped with your favorite fixings, they’re the perfect mix of comfort food and bold flavor — ideal for weeknight dinners, parties, or taco Tuesdays with a twist.

Ingredients

For the beef:

  • 1 lb ground beef (85% lean works great)

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1/2 cup BBQ sauce (your favorite brand or homemade)

  • 2 tablespoons honey

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional for extra depth)

For serving:

  • 8 small flour or corn tortillas

  • Shredded lettuce

  • Diced tomatoes

  • Shredded cheddar or Monterey Jack cheese

  • Sour cream

  • Chopped fresh cilantro

  • Lime wedges

Instructions

  • Cook the beef:
In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
Add the ground beef and cook until browned and fully cooked, breaking it up as it cooks. Drain any excess grease if needed.

  • Add the flavor:
Stir in the BBQ sauce, honey, smoked paprika (if using), and season with salt and pepper to taste.
Let simmer for 3–5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens and coats the beef evenly.

  • Warm the tortillas:
Heat tortillas in a dry skillet for 30 seconds per side or microwave under a damp paper towel for about 20 seconds.

  • Assemble the tacos:
Spoon the BBQ beef into each tortilla. Top with lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, sour cream, cilantro, and a squeeze of lime juice.

Notes

  • Try this with ground turkey or shredded beef for a variation.

  • Add jalapeños or hot sauce if you want extra heat.

  • This beef mixture is also great in nachos or quesadillas!
