- 8 tostada shells
- 1 (15 oz) can refried beans, warmed
- 1 lb ground beef or turkey
- 1 packet taco seasoning mix
- 2/3 cup water
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 1 cup diced tomatoes
- 1 cup shredded cheddar or Mexican blend cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped onion (optional)
- 1/4 cup sliced black olives (optional)
- Sour cream, salsa, and guacamole for topping (optional)
Instructions
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef or turkey until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Add taco seasoning and water. Stir to combine and simmer for 5 minutes. Remove from heat.
- Spread a layer of warm refried beans onto each tostada shell.
- Top with a scoop of the seasoned meat mixture.
- Add shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, cheese, and any other desired toppings.
- Serve immediately with sour cream, salsa, or guacamole if desired.
