Description

This Easy Tostada Recipe is a quick and customizable Mexican-style dish with crispy tortillas topped with refried beans, seasoned meat, fresh veggies, and cheese. Perfect for weeknight dinners or casual gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 8 tostada shells
  • 1 (15 oz) can refried beans, warmed
  • 1 lb ground beef or turkey
  • 1 packet taco seasoning mix
  • 2/3 cup water
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar or Mexican blend cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion (optional)
  • 1/4 cup sliced black olives (optional)
  • Sour cream, salsa, and guacamole for topping (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef or turkey until browned. Drain excess fat.
  2. Add taco seasoning and water. Stir to combine and simmer for 5 minutes. Remove from heat.
  3. Spread a layer of warm refried beans onto each tostada shell.
  4. Top with a scoop of the seasoned meat mixture.
  5. Add shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, cheese, and any other desired toppings.
