Description

A quick and hearty Philly Cheese Steak Casserole packed with beef, peppers, onions, and gooey cheese – all the flavor of a classic sandwich in a comforting baked dish.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 cup shredded provolone cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch casserole dish.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat.
  3. Add diced bell pepper, onion, and garlic. Cook until vegetables are tender, about 5 minutes.
  4. Stir in cream cheese until melted and well combined with the beef mixture. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. In a large bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, eggs, heavy cream, Worcestershire sauce, and Italian seasoning.
  6. Spread the beef mixture in the prepared baking dish. Pour the egg and cream mixture evenly over the top.
  7. Sprinkle provolone and mozzarella cheese evenly over the casserole.
  8. Bake for 30–35 minutes or until the top is golden and bubbly.
  9. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • Use thinly sliced steak instead of ground beef for a more authentic flavor.
  • Feel free to add mushrooms or hot peppers for variety.
  • Can be made ahead and reheated – perfect for meal prep.
