Description

This easy peach cobbler is a classic Southern dessert made with juicy peaches and a sweet, buttery crust. Perfect for summer gatherings or a cozy family treat.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cups sliced fresh or canned peaches (drained if canned)
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Pour the melted butter into a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  3. In a medium bowl, mix together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Stir in the milk until just combined to form a batter.
  5. Pour the batter over the melted butter in the baking dish. Do not stir.
  6. Spoon the peaches evenly over the batter. Do not stir.
  7. Sprinkle with cinnamon if using.
  8. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the crust comes out clean.
  9. Let cool slightly before serving. Best served warm, optionally with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Notes

  • You can use frozen peaches, just thaw and drain them first.
  • Adjust sugar based on the sweetness of your peaches.
  • For extra flavor, add a splash of vanilla extract to the batter.
