- 1/4 cup orange juice
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional for thicker sauce)
- 1/4 cup water (optional for thinner sauce)
- Sesame seeds, for garnish (optional)
- Green onions, chopped, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the ground chicken and cook, breaking it apart with a spoon, until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
- While the chicken cooks, in a small bowl, mix together the orange juice, soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, ginger, garlic, and red pepper flakes (if using).
- Once the chicken is cooked, pour the orange sauce mixture into the skillet with the chicken.
- If you prefer a thicker sauce, mix cornstarch with 1/4 cup of water and stir into the skillet.
- Simmer the sauce with the chicken for 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens to your desired consistency.
- Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions, if desired.
- Serve with rice or vegetables, and enjoy!
Notes
- For a vegetarian option, use plant-based ground chicken or tofu.
- If you don’t like spice, skip the red pepper flakes.
- Adjust the sweetness of the sauce by adding more or less honey based on your preference.
