Description

This easy and flavorful orange ground chicken recipe is a quick 25-minute dish that combines savory ground chicken with a sweet and tangy orange sauce. Perfect for a busy weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground chicken
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/4 cup orange juice
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional for thicker sauce)
  • 1/4 cup water (optional for thinner sauce)
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish (optional)
  • Green onions, chopped, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the ground chicken and cook, breaking it apart with a spoon, until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. While the chicken cooks, in a small bowl, mix together the orange juice, soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, ginger, garlic, and red pepper flakes (if using).
  4. Once the chicken is cooked, pour the orange sauce mixture into the skillet with the chicken.
  5. If you prefer a thicker sauce, mix cornstarch with 1/4 cup of water and stir into the skillet.
  6. Simmer the sauce with the chicken for 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens to your desired consistency.
  7. Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions, if desired.
  8. Serve with rice or vegetables, and enjoy!

Notes

  • For a vegetarian option, use plant-based ground chicken or tofu.
  • If you don’t like spice, skip the red pepper flakes.
  • Adjust the sweetness of the sauce by adding more or less honey based on your preference.
