Description

A quick and flavorful side dish, this Easy Garlic Butter Rice is made with simple ingredients and delivers rich, buttery, garlicky taste in every bite.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup long grain white rice
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups chicken broth (or vegetable broth)
  • Salt, to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear, then drain well.
  2. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
  3. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant, but not browned.
  4. Stir in the rice and cook for 2-3 minutes, allowing it to lightly toast and absorb the butter and garlic flavor.
  5. Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a boil.
  6. Reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15-18 minutes, or until the rice is tender and the liquid is absorbed.
  7. Remove from heat and let it sit covered for 5 minutes.
  8. Fluff with a fork, season with salt and pepper to taste, and garnish with chopped parsley if desired.

Notes

  • Use vegetable broth for a vegetarian version.
  • Add a pinch of chili flakes for a bit of heat.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
