A quick and flavorful side dish, this Easy Garlic Butter Rice is made with simple ingredients and delivers rich, buttery, garlicky taste in every bite.
Ingredients
- 1 cup long grain white rice
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups chicken broth (or vegetable broth)
- Salt, to taste
- Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear, then drain well.
- In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant, but not browned.
- Stir in the rice and cook for 2-3 minutes, allowing it to lightly toast and absorb the butter and garlic flavor.
- Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a boil.
- Reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15-18 minutes, or until the rice is tender and the liquid is absorbed.
- Remove from heat and let it sit covered for 5 minutes.
- Fluff with a fork, season with salt and pepper to taste, and garnish with chopped parsley if desired.
Notes
- Use vegetable broth for a vegetarian version.
- Add a pinch of chili flakes for a bit of heat.
- Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
