Description

Easy Creamed Peas is a quick and comforting side dish made with sweet green peas in a creamy, buttery sauce—perfect for weeknight dinners or holiday meals.


Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
  2. Whisk in the flour and cook for 1–2 minutes to form a roux.
  3. Gradually whisk in the milk and continue cooking until the mixture thickens, about 3–5 minutes.
  4. Add the frozen peas and stir to combine.
  5. Season with salt, pepper, and sugar if using.
  6. Cook for another 5 minutes, or until peas are tender and heated through.
  7. Serve warm.
