- 200g semi-sweet chocolate, finely chopped
- 100ml heavy cream
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
- Cocoa powder, chopped nuts, or sprinkles (for coating)
Instructions
- Place chopped chocolate in a heatproof bowl.
- In a small saucepan, heat cream and butter over medium heat until it just begins to simmer.
- Pour the hot cream mixture over the chocolate and let sit for 2–3 minutes to soften.
- Stir gently until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth. Add vanilla extract if using.
- Cover and refrigerate the mixture for 1–2 hours until firm.
- Using a small spoon or melon baller, scoop out portions of the mixture and roll into balls with your hands.
- Roll the truffles in cocoa powder, chopped nuts, or sprinkles to coat.
- Chill again until ready to serve. Store in the fridge.
