Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter or nonstick spray.
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the breakfast sausage until browned and crumbled. Drain excess grease.
- In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, salt, and pepper until well combined.
- Cut bread into cubes and spread evenly in the prepared baking dish.
- Layer cooked sausage over bread, then sprinkle shredded cheese on top.
- Pour egg mixture evenly over all ingredients in the dish.
- Let casserole sit for 15 minutes or refrigerate overnight.
- Bake uncovered for 40-45 minutes until center is set and top is golden brown.
- Cool slightly before slicing and serving.
