- 4 ripe pears, halved and cored
- 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
- 1/4 cup raisins or dried cranberries (optional)
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted
- 1/4 cup water or apple juice
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Place the pear halves cut-side up in a baking dish.
- Drizzle with honey or maple syrup and melted butter.
- Sprinkle with cinnamon and nutmeg.
- If using, scatter chopped nuts and dried fruit over the pears.
- Pour the water or apple juice into the bottom of the baking dish.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes or until the pears are tender and slightly caramelized.
- Serve warm, optionally with a dollop of Greek yogurt or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Notes
- Use ripe but firm pears such as Bosc or Anjou for best results.
- Adjust sweetness to taste by increasing or reducing honey or syrup.
- Can be prepared ahead and reheated before serving.
