Description

A simple and healthy dessert made with ripe pears, warm spices, and a touch of sweetness. Perfect for a light treat or an elegant dinner finale.


Ingredients

  • 4 ripe pears, halved and cored
  • 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
  • 1/4 cup raisins or dried cranberries (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup water or apple juice

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Place the pear halves cut-side up in a baking dish.
  3. Drizzle with honey or maple syrup and melted butter.
  4. Sprinkle with cinnamon and nutmeg.
  5. If using, scatter chopped nuts and dried fruit over the pears.
  6. Pour the water or apple juice into the bottom of the baking dish.
  7. Bake for 25–30 minutes or until the pears are tender and slightly caramelized.
  8. Serve warm, optionally with a dollop of Greek yogurt or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Notes

  • Use ripe but firm pears such as Bosc or Anjou for best results.
  • Adjust sweetness to taste by increasing or reducing honey or syrup.
  • Can be prepared ahead and reheated before serving.
