Description

These homemade garlic knots are soft, fluffy, and full of buttery garlic flavor. They’re made from simple pizza dough, brushed with garlic butter, and baked until golden brown. Perfect as a side dish for pasta, pizza night, or just as a savory snack!

Ingredients

For the Dough:

  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast (1 packet)

  • 1 cup warm water (about 110°F)

  • 1 tablespoon sugar

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • 1 teaspoon salt

For the Garlic Butter:

  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • Optional: 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Stir gently and let it sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.

  2. Add flour, salt, and olive oil to the yeast mixture. Stir until a dough forms.

  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5–7 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  4. Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a towel, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

  5. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  6. Punch down the dough and divide it into 12 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a rope and tie into a knot.

  7. Place knots on the prepared baking sheet and let them rest for 10–15 minutes.

  8. Mix together melted butter, minced garlic, salt, and parsley.

  9. Brush half of the garlic butter over the knots.

  10. Bake for 15–18 minutes, or until golden brown.

  11. Remove from the oven and brush with the remaining garlic butter. Sprinkle with Parmesan, if using.

  12. Serve warm!

Notes

  • You can use store-bought pizza dough to save time.

  • These are best served fresh but can be reheated in the oven or air fryer.

  • Add a pinch of red pepper flakes for a little heat.
