Ingredients
For the Dough:
-
2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast (1 packet)
-
1 cup warm water (about 110°F)
-
1 tablespoon sugar
-
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
-
2 tablespoons olive oil
-
1 teaspoon salt
For the Garlic Butter:
-
4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
-
3 cloves garlic, minced
-
1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
-
1/2 teaspoon salt
-
Optional: 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
-
In a large bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Stir gently and let it sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
-
Add flour, salt, and olive oil to the yeast mixture. Stir until a dough forms.
-
Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5–7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
-
Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a towel, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
-
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
-
Punch down the dough and divide it into 12 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a rope and tie into a knot.
-
Place knots on the prepared baking sheet and let them rest for 10–15 minutes.
-
Mix together melted butter, minced garlic, salt, and parsley.
-
Brush half of the garlic butter over the knots.
-
Bake for 15–18 minutes, or until golden brown.
-
Remove from the oven and brush with the remaining garlic butter. Sprinkle with Parmesan, if using.
-
Serve warm!
Notes
-
You can use store-bought pizza dough to save time.
-
These are best served fresh but can be reheated in the oven or air fryer.
-
Add a pinch of red pepper flakes for a little heat.
