Description

Dulce de Leche Fondue is a rich and indulgent dessert that brings together the creamy sweetness of dulce de leche with the fun and interactive experience of fondue. Perfect for dipping fruits, cakes, or cookies for a delightful treat.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
  • Fresh fruit (e.g., strawberries, bananas, apple slices)
  • Mini marshmallows
  • Cubed pound cake or angel food cake
  • Biscuits or cookies (optional, for dipping)

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the sweetened condensed milk, heavy cream, and butter. Heat over medium heat, stirring frequently, until the butter has melted and the mixture is smooth.
  2. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer, then reduce the heat to low. Continue stirring for 2-3 minutes until it thickens slightly.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and sea salt.
  4. Transfer the fondue mixture to a fondue pot to keep warm, or serve directly in a small bowl.
  5. Serve with your choice of fresh fruit, marshmallows, cake cubes, and cookies for dipping.

Notes

  • If you prefer a thicker consistency, let the fondue simmer a bit longer to reduce it.
  • You can use dulce de leche (pre-made) instead of sweetened condensed milk for a more intense caramel flavor.
  • This fondue can be made ahead and reheated gently before serving.
