- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
- 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon sriracha or chili garlic sauce (adjust to taste)
- 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon water (optional, to thin if needed)
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
Instructions
- In a small bowl or saucepan, combine soy sauce, hoisin sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, sriracha, ginger, and garlic.
- Whisk well until smooth. Taste and adjust sweetness or heat as desired.
- If a thicker sauce is preferred, dissolve cornstarch in 1 tablespoon water and add to the mixture.
- Heat over medium heat for 2-3 minutes, stirring constantly, until slightly thickened.
- Remove from heat and let cool slightly. Use immediately or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
