- 8 tablespoons butter
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon (divided)
- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 3 large eggs
- 1 1/2 cups vegetable oil (for frying) or nonstick spray (for air fryer)
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
Instructions
- In a saucepan over medium heat, combine water, butter, salt, and 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon. Bring to a rolling boil.
- Reduce heat to low and add flour, stirring vigorously until the mixture forms a ball. Remove from heat and let cool for 5-7 minutes.
- Beat in eggs one at a time until fully incorporated and dough is smooth.
- Preheat oil to 350°F or air fryer to 375°F.
- Pipe or spoon dough into 1-inch pieces directly into hot oil or air fryer basket.
- Fry until golden brown (about 2-3 minutes) or air fry for 10-12 minutes, turning halfway if needed.
- Remove churro bites and drain on paper towels.
- Mix remaining 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon with sugar in a bowl. Toss churro bites in the mixture while still warm.
- Serve immediately with optional chocolate or caramel dipping sauces.
