Description
Crispy Chicken Tenders are golden, crunchy, and juicy strips of chicken breast coated in a seasoned breadcrumb mixture and fried to perfection. Perfect for snacks, dinners, or parties.
Ingredients
- 1 lb chicken tenders
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko preferred)
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 2 eggs
- Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
- Place chicken tenders in a bowl and pour buttermilk over them. Let them marinate for at least 30 minutes or up to overnight in the refrigerator.
- In a shallow bowl, mix flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- In a second bowl, beat the eggs.
- In a third bowl, add the breadcrumbs.
- Remove chicken from buttermilk, allowing excess to drip off. Dredge each tender in the flour mixture, then dip into the egg, and finally coat with breadcrumbs.
- Heat about 2 inches of oil in a deep skillet over medium-high heat to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry chicken tenders in batches for 3-4 minutes per side or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
- Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
- For extra crispiness, double coat the tenders by repeating the flour, egg, and breadcrumb steps.
- You can bake or air-fry the tenders as a healthier option.
- Ensure oil temperature is consistent to avoid greasy or undercooked chicken.
