Description

Creamy Tomato Basil Chicken is a rich and flavorful dish featuring tender chicken breasts simmered in a creamy tomato and basil sauce, perfect for a comforting dinner.


Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1 cup canned crushed tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper on both sides.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook for 5-6 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Add cherry tomatoes and crushed tomatoes. Simmer for 5 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly.
  5. Reduce heat to low and stir in heavy cream and Parmesan cheese until combined.
  6. Return the chicken to the skillet and simmer for an additional 5 minutes, spooning the sauce over the chicken.
  7. Stir in fresh basil and serve hot.

Notes

  • Serve with pasta, rice, or crusty bread to soak up the sauce.
  • Use sun-dried tomatoes for a deeper flavor variation.
  • Fresh basil adds the best flavor, but dried basil can be used in a pinch.
