Description

Creamy Pesto Chicken is a rich and flavorful dish featuring tender chicken breasts smothered in a creamy pesto sauce, perfect for a comforting and easy dinner.


Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup basil pesto
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
  3. Cook chicken breasts for 6-7 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, melt butter and add chicken broth to deglaze the pan.
  5. Add heavy cream and pesto, stirring to combine.
  6. Mix in the Parmesan cheese and cook until the sauce thickens slightly.
  7. Return the chicken breasts to the skillet, spooning the sauce over them.
  8. Simmer for 3-5 minutes until everything is heated through.
  9. Garnish with fresh basil leaves before serving.

Notes

  • Use homemade or store-bought pesto based on preference.
  • For a lighter version, substitute heavy cream with half-and-half.
  • Serve with pasta, rice, or steamed vegetables for a complete meal.
