Description

Creamy Mushroom Asiago Chicken is a rich and flavorful dish featuring tender chicken breasts smothered in a creamy garlic mushroom sauce with the bold, nutty flavor of Asiago cheese. It’s perfect for an elegant dinner yet easy enough for weeknights.


Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 8 oz cremini or white mushrooms, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 3/4 cup shredded Asiago cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add chicken and sear 5–6 minutes per side until golden and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium and add butter. Sauté mushrooms until browned and tender, about 5 minutes.
  4. Add garlic and thyme, cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  5. Pour in chicken broth and heavy cream. Stir and bring to a simmer.
  6. Add Asiago cheese and stir until melted and the sauce is smooth and slightly thickened, 3–5 minutes.
  7. Return chicken to the skillet, spoon sauce over the top, and simmer for 2–3 minutes to heat through.
  8. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.

  • Pair with mashed potatoes, pasta, or crusty bread to soak up the sauce.
  • Use freshly grated Asiago for best flavor and meltability.
  • Substitute Asiago with Parmesan if preferred.
