Description

Creamy Mushroom Asiago Chicken is a rich and savory dish featuring tender chicken breasts smothered in a creamy mushroom and Asiago cheese sauce. It’s perfect for a cozy dinner and pairs well with pasta or mashed potatoes.


Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 2 cups sliced mushrooms (cremini or button)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3/4 cup grated Asiago cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook chicken for 5-6 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add butter and sauté mushrooms until browned and tender, about 5 minutes.
  4. Add garlic and cook for another minute.
  5. Pour in chicken broth and bring to a simmer, scraping up any browned bits from the skillet.
  6. Stir in heavy cream, Asiago cheese, and thyme. Cook until cheese is melted and sauce is slightly thickened, about 3-4 minutes.
  7. Return chicken to the skillet and spoon sauce over the top. Simmer for another 2-3 minutes to reheat chicken.
  8. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve warm.

Notes

  • Substitute Asiago with Parmesan if desired.
  • Serve with pasta, rice, or mashed potatoes to soak up the sauce.
  • Use chicken thighs for a juicier alternative.
