Description

This creamy lemon garlic chicken pasta is a quick and flavorful dinner that’s perfect for busy weeknights. Tender chicken is cooked with garlic and lemon, then tossed in a rich, creamy sauce with pasta. It’s comforting, zesty, and packed with flavor—perfect for the whole family.


Ingredients

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

  • Juice and zest of 1 lemon

  • 1 cup heavy cream

  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • 8 oz fettuccine or pasta of choice

  • 1/2 cup reserved pasta water

  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)


Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta:
    Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain the rest and set pasta aside.

  2. Cook the chicken:
    While pasta cooks, season chicken with salt and pepper. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken and cook for 6–8 minutes, or until golden and cooked through. Remove chicken and set aside.

  3. Make the sauce:
    In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium. Add minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant. Stir in Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes, lemon juice, and lemon zest.

  4. Add the cream and cheese:
    Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Stir in the Parmesan cheese and cook for 2–3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.

  5. Combine everything:
    Add the cooked pasta and chicken back to the pan. Toss to coat everything in the sauce. If the sauce is too thick, add a little of the reserved pasta water to loosen it.

  6. Serve:
    Garnish with chopped parsley and extra Parmesan, if desired. Serve warm.


Notes

  • You can swap chicken breasts for thighs for extra juiciness.

  • Add spinach or broccoli for more veggies.

  • For extra brightness, add more lemon zest just before serving.
