Description

A comforting, creamy one-pot meal featuring seasoned ground beef and tender orzo pasta cooked together with savory spices and a rich, cheesy sauce.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup orzo pasta
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add diced onion and cook until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Add minced garlic and cook for another 30 seconds.
  4. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon.
  5. Season with salt, pepper, paprika, oregano, and red pepper flakes if using.
  6. Stir in the orzo and cook for 1-2 minutes to toast slightly.
  7. Pour in beef broth and milk, stir well, and bring to a simmer.
  8. Reduce heat to low, cover, and cook for about 10-12 minutes until orzo is tender, stirring occasionally.
  9. Remove from heat and stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until melted and creamy.
  10. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
