A rich and flavorful Creamy Cajun Shrimp Pasta made with succulent shrimp, tender pasta, and a spicy Cajun cream sauce that’s perfect for a comforting dinner.
Ingredients
- 8 oz fettuccine or linguine pasta
- 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 tbsp Cajun seasoning
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup chicken broth
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Cook pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- Season the shrimp with 1 tablespoon of Cajun seasoning.
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, heat olive oil. Add shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes per side or until pink and opaque. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add butter, garlic, onion, and bell pepper. Sauté for 3-4 minutes until softened.
- Reduce heat to medium, pour in heavy cream, chicken broth, and remaining Cajun seasoning. Stir well and bring to a simmer.
- Add Parmesan cheese and stir until melted and sauce thickens slightly.
- Add cooked pasta and shrimp back to the skillet. Toss to coat evenly in the sauce.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve warm.
Notes
- Adjust Cajun seasoning to control spice level.
- Substitute heavy cream with half-and-half for a lighter version.
- Use freshly grated Parmesan for the best flavor and texture.
