Ingredients
Scale
Sausage Balls:
- 1 pound breakfast sausage (uncooked, mild or spicy)
- 8 ounces cream cheese (softened)
- 1½ cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1¼ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
- ¼ teaspoon onion powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Mix ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the sausage, cream cheese, cheddar cheese, flour, baking powder, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt. Mix thoroughly using your hands or a stand mixer until fully combined.
- Form balls: Scoop and roll the mixture into 1½-inch balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet about 1 inch apart.
- Bake: Bake for 22–25 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Cool and serve: Let the sausage balls cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- To make ahead, prepare and roll the balls, then freeze raw on a baking sheet. Once frozen, transfer to a bag and bake from frozen—add a few extra minutes to the bake time.
- Great with dipping sauces like honey mustard or ranch.
