A warm and comforting dessert combining tart cranberries and sweet apples topped with a buttery oat crisp topping.

- 4 cups apples, peeled and sliced
- 2 cups fresh or frozen cranberries
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/4 tsp salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine apples, cranberries, granulated sugar, 1 tbsp flour, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Mix well and spread in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a separate bowl, mix oats, 1/2 cup flour, brown sugar, salt, and melted butter until crumbly.
- Sprinkle the oat mixture evenly over the fruit.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the topping is golden and the fruit is bubbling.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream if desired.
Notes
- You can use a mix of apple varieties for more depth of flavor.
- Frozen cranberries do not need to be thawed before baking.
- Add chopped nuts to the topping for extra crunch.
