- 1 lb cremini or button mushrooms, cleaned and sliced
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- Optional: 1 tbsp whiskey or bourbon for added flavor
Instructions

- Add the sliced mushrooms and cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they start to brown and release moisture.
- Add minced garlic and cook for another 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Stir in Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until the mushrooms are well-coated and tender.
- If using whiskey or bourbon, add it now and cook for another 1-2 minutes to let the alcohol evaporate and the flavors meld.
- Remove from heat and sprinkle with fresh chopped parsley before serving.
Notes
- Use a mix of mushroom varieties for a deeper flavor.
- Great as a side dish, burger topping, or over mashed potatoes.
- To make it vegan, substitute butter with plant-based butter.
