Description

Classic chocolate chip cookies that are soft, chewy, and loaded with gooey chocolate chips—perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed light-brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups semisweet and/or milk chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour and baking soda; set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, beat the butter and both sugars on medium speed until light and fluffy, about 2–3 minutes.
  4. Add salt, vanilla extract, and eggs. Mix until well combined.
  5. Gradually add the flour mixture and mix just until incorporated.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips using a spatula.
  7. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the edges are golden but centers are still soft.
  9. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • For crispier cookies, bake an additional 2 minutes.
  • Dough can be chilled for 30 minutes to prevent spreading.
  • You can freeze cookie dough for up to 3 months.
