Description
A traditional holiday side dish made with green beans, creamy mushroom soup, and crispy fried onions for a comforting and nostalgic flavor.
Ingredients
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 tsp soy sauce
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 4 cups cooked green beans (or 2 cans, drained)
- 1 1/3 cups French fried onions, divided
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine cream of mushroom soup, milk, soy sauce, and black pepper. Stir until smooth.
- Add green beans and 2/3 cup of French fried onions. Mix well to coat.
- Pour mixture into a 1 1/2-quart casserole dish.
- Bake for 25 minutes or until hot and bubbling.
- Remove from oven, stir the mixture, and top with remaining French fried onions.
- Return to oven and bake for an additional 5 minutes or until onions are golden brown.
Notes
- Use fresh or frozen green beans for a firmer texture.
- Add sautéed mushrooms for extra mushroom flavor.
- Can be made a day ahead and reheated before serving.
