- 2 Roma tomatoes, diced
- 1/4 cup red onion, finely diced
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- 1 jalapeño, finely diced (seeds removed for less heat)
- 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice (about 1–2 limes)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt, or to taste
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 clove garlic, minced (optional)
Instructions
- Cut the avocados in half, remove the pits, and scoop the flesh into a large bowl.
- Use a fork or potato masher to mash the avocados to your desired chunkiness.
- Dice the tomatoes, red onion, jalapeño, and cilantro finely. Add them to the bowl.
- Squeeze in the juice of fresh limes and mix gently.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste. Add minced garlic if desired.
- Mix until combined but still chunky.
- Serve immediately with tortilla chips or as a topping for tacos or grilled meats.

- For a sweet twist, add diced mango or pineapple.
- Use roasted garlic or shallots for deeper flavor.
- Mix in crumbled queso fresco or cotija cheese for added richness.
- Add a dash of cumin or smoked paprika for an earthy note.
