Description

Rich, velvety bite-sized chocolate truffles made with simple ingredients. Perfect for gifting, parties, or indulging your chocolate cravings any time.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz good quality dark or semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter (optional, for extra richness)
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract (optional)
  • Cocoa powder, finely chopped nuts, shredded coconut, or sprinkles, for coating

Instructions

  1. Place the chopped chocolate in a heatproof bowl.
  2. In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream (and butter, if using) over medium heat until it just begins to simmer—do not boil.
  3. Pour the hot cream over the chopped chocolate and let sit for 2-3 minutes to melt.
  4. Add vanilla extract if using, then stir gently until the mixture is smooth and glossy.
  5. Cover and refrigerate the ganache for at least 1-2 hours, or until firm enough to scoop.
  6. Using a small cookie scoop or spoon, portion the ganache and roll into balls with your hands.
  7. Roll each truffle in cocoa powder, chopped nuts, coconut, or sprinkles to coat.
  8. Refrigerate until ready to serve. Serve chilled or at room temperature.

Notes

  • Add a splash of flavored liqueur like Baileys, Grand Marnier, or Amaretto for a fun twist.
  • Use white or milk chocolate instead of dark chocolate for a different flavor.
  • Infuse the cream with orange zest, espresso powder, or spices for unique truffles.
  • Dip the truffles in melted chocolate for a smooth, glossy finish.
