Description

Classic homemade chocolate chip cookies with a crispy edge and chewy center, perfect for any sweet craving.


Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, beat softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until creamy.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition, then stir in vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually mix in the flour mixture until just combined.
  6. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts if using.
  7. Drop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 9–11 minutes or until golden brown around the edges.
  9. Cool on baking sheet for 2 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
