Description

Crispy, rolled corn tortillas filled with a savory shredded chicken and cheese mixture, baked or fried to golden perfection. Perfect for dipping and great for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked shredded chicken
  • 12 corn tortillas
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar or Mexican cheese blend
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/2 tsp chili powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • Vegetable oil (for frying or brushing if baking)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) or heat oil in a skillet for frying.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the shredded chicken, cream cheese, shredded cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  3. Warm the corn tortillas slightly to make them pliable.
  4. Spoon the chicken mixture onto each tortilla and roll tightly into a cigar shape.
  5. For baking: Place taquitos seam side down on a greased or parchment-lined baking sheet. Brush lightly with oil and bake for 15–20 minutes until crispy and golden.
  6. For frying: Carefully fry taquitos in hot oil for 2–3 minutes per side until golden and crispy. Drain on paper towels.
  7. Serve hot with salsa, guacamole, or sour cream.
