Chicken Parmesan Pasta Casserole combines all the flavors of classic chicken parmesan in an easy, cheesy, baked pasta dish. Perfect for a cozy family dinner or make-ahead meal.

- 12 oz penne pasta
- 2 cups cooked chicken breast, chopped or shredded
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup seasoned breadcrumbs
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Fresh basil or parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Cook pasta according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large bowl, combine cooked pasta, chicken, marinara sauce, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, Parmesan cheese, and 1 cup of mozzarella cheese. Mix well.
- Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
- Top with remaining 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese.
- In a small bowl, mix breadcrumbs with olive oil, then sprinkle evenly over the top.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the topping is golden brown.
- Let sit for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with chopped basil or parsley if desired.
Notes
- Use rotisserie chicken for a quick shortcut.
- Substitute marinara with arrabbiata sauce for a spicier kick.
- This casserole can be assembled ahead of time and refrigerated until ready to bake.
