Description

A comforting and hearty Chicken Parmesan Pasta Casserole combining crispy chicken, marinara sauce, and melted cheese all baked together with pasta.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked pasta (penne or rotini)
  • 2 cups cooked, shredded chicken
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup Italian-style breadcrumbs
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine cooked pasta, shredded chicken, and marinara sauce. Mix well.
  3. Transfer the mixture to a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
  4. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese and Parmesan cheese evenly over the top.
  5. In a small bowl, mix breadcrumbs with olive oil and Italian seasoning. Sprinkle over the casserole.
  6. Bake uncovered for 20-25 minutes, until bubbly and the top is golden brown.
  7. Remove from oven and let rest for 5 minutes. Garnish with fresh basil if desired and serve warm.

Notes

  • You can use rotisserie chicken for convenience.
  • Try adding a layer of sautéed spinach or mushrooms for extra flavor.
  • This casserole can be assembled ahead and refrigerated before baking.
