- 4 cups cooked chicken, cubed (rotisserie chicken works well)
- 1 1/2 cups cooked ham, diced
- 2 cups shredded Swiss cheese
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko)
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon butter, melted
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with cooking spray or butter.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked chicken, diced ham, and 1 1/2 cups of shredded Swiss cheese. Stir to combine.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the cream of chicken soup, sour cream, milk, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, and black pepper until smooth.
- Pour the soup mixture over the chicken and ham mixture and stir to coat everything evenly.
- Spread the mixture evenly in the prepared baking dish.
- In a small bowl, mix the breadcrumbs with the melted butter. Sprinkle the buttered breadcrumbs evenly over the top of the casserole.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the casserole is bubbly and the breadcrumbs are golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving, if desired.
Notes
- You can use chicken breast, thighs, or even leftover roast chicken for this recipe.
- If you prefer a lighter version, you can substitute the cream of chicken soup with a lighter version or use homemade cream sauce.
- This casserole can be made ahead and stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days before baking. Just cover it tightly and refrigerate.
