Description
A quick, healthy stir-fry featuring tender chicken and crisp-tender broccoli in a savory garlic soy sauce. Perfect for busy weeknights.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb chicken breast, thinly sliced
- 3 cups broccoli florets
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp grated ginger (optional)
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 tsp sugar
Instructions
- Cut the chicken breast into thin, bite-sized slices and place them in a bowl with cornstarch and a splash of soy sauce. Mix well and marinate for 10-15 minutes.
- Steam or blanch broccoli florets until bright green and slightly tender. Drain and set aside.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the marinated chicken and stir-fry until golden and cooked through, about 4-5 minutes.
- Add minced garlic and optional ginger to the pan and sauté briefly until fragrant.
- Stir in the remaining soy sauce, chicken broth, sugar, and sesame oil. Bring to a simmer.
- Add the cooked broccoli back into the skillet and toss everything together until evenly coated and heated through.
- Serve hot over steamed rice or noodles.
Notes
- Use beef or tofu instead of chicken for different protein options.
- Add bell peppers, mushrooms, or snap peas for more veggie variety.
- Spice it up with red pepper flakes or chili oil.
- Swap soy sauce for tamari to make it gluten-free.
