Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup ripe mashed banana (about 1 medium banana)
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, cream together butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the egg, vanilla extract, and mashed banana until well combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Scoop dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each cookie.
- Bake for 9-12 minutes, or until edges are lightly golden but centers are still soft.
- Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- Add chopped walnuts or pecans for extra crunch.
- Use dark chocolate chips or chunks for a richer taste.
- Sprinkle a little sea salt on top before baking for a sweet-salty bite.
- Add a dash of cinnamon for a cozy flavor boost.
