Description

A comforting and hearty pasta dish featuring tender ground beef, bowtie pasta, and a rich, cheesy tomato sauce. Perfect for a quick and satisfying weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 12 oz bowtie pasta
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 (24 oz) jar marinara sauce
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook the bowtie pasta according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and cook until softened, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute.
  4. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon, about 6-8 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
  5. Stir in Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper.
  6. Pour in marinara sauce and beef broth. Stir to combine and let simmer for 5 minutes.
  7. Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to coat with the sauce.
  8. Stir in mozzarella and Parmesan cheese until melted and combined.
  9. Serve hot, garnished with chopped parsley.

Notes

  • You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for a lighter version.
  • Use any short pasta shape if bowties are unavailable.
  • For extra creaminess, stir in 1/4 cup of heavy cream with the cheese.
