- 12 oz bowtie pasta
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 (24 oz) jar marinara sauce
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Cook the bowtie pasta according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and cook until softened, about 3-4 minutes.
- Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute.
- Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon, about 6-8 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
- Stir in Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper.
- Pour in marinara sauce and beef broth. Stir to combine and let simmer for 5 minutes.
- Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to coat with the sauce.
- Stir in mozzarella and Parmesan cheese until melted and combined.
- Serve hot, garnished with chopped parsley.
Notes
- You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for a lighter version.
- Use any short pasta shape if bowties are unavailable.
- For extra creaminess, stir in 1/4 cup of heavy cream with the cheese.
