- 1 lb ground beef
- 12 oz bowtie pasta (farfalle)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
- 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Cook bowtie pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add diced onion and sauté until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
- Add minced garlic and cook for another 30 seconds.
- Add ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon, about 6-8 minutes. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Simmer for 5-7 minutes to combine flavors.
- Reduce heat to low and stir in the cooked pasta until well coated with the sauce.
- Add cheddar cheese and Parmesan cheese, stirring until melted and evenly distributed.
- Garnish with chopped parsley, if desired, and serve warm.
Notes
- You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for beef.
- Add red pepper flakes for a spicy kick.
- Use a mix of mozzarella and cheddar for extra cheesiness.
- Leftovers keep well in the fridge for up to 3 days.
