Description

A comforting and hearty Cheesy Beef and Bowtie Pasta dish that’s perfect for weeknight dinners. Made with seasoned ground beef, tender bowtie pasta, and melted cheese in a rich tomato sauce.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 12 oz bowtie pasta (farfalle)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook bowtie pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add diced onion and sauté until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Add minced garlic and cook for another 30 seconds.
  4. Add ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon, about 6-8 minutes. Drain excess fat.
  5. Stir in tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Simmer for 5-7 minutes to combine flavors.
  6. Reduce heat to low and stir in the cooked pasta until well coated with the sauce.
  7. Add cheddar cheese and Parmesan cheese, stirring until melted and evenly distributed.
  8. Garnish with chopped parsley, if desired, and serve warm.

Notes

  • You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for beef.
  • Add red pepper flakes for a spicy kick.
  • Use a mix of mozzarella and cheddar for extra cheesiness.
  • Leftovers keep well in the fridge for up to 3 days.
