Description

Cheese-Stuffed Potato Balls are crispy on the outside with a soft, cheesy center. These bite-sized snacks are made from mashed potatoes filled with gooey cheese, perfect for parties or as a delicious appetizer.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 3 cups mashed potatoes (cooled)
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (cut into small cubes)
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • Vegetable oil for deep frying

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine mashed potatoes, parmesan cheese, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well until smooth.
  2. Scoop about 2 tablespoons of the potato mixture and flatten it in your hand.
  3. Place a cube of mozzarella in the center and wrap the potato mixture around it to form a ball. Repeat with remaining mixture.
  4. Roll each ball in flour, then dip in beaten eggs, and finally coat with breadcrumbs.
  5. Heat oil in a deep fryer or heavy-bottomed pot to 350°F (175°C).
  6. Fry the potato balls in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 2–3 minutes per batch.
  7. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. Serve hot.

Notes

  • Chill the potato balls before frying for better shape retention.
  • Use different cheeses like cheddar or pepper jack for variation.
  • Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 20 minutes for a healthier option.
