- 6 cups cubed day-old bread (such as brioche or challah)
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp melted butter
- Maple syrup, for serving (optional)
- Powdered sugar, for dusting (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a 12-cup muffin tin.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, heavy cream, brown sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt.
- Add the cubed bread to the bowl and gently stir to coat evenly. Let sit for 5–10 minutes to absorb the liquid.
- Spoon the soaked bread mixture evenly into the prepared muffin tin, pressing down slightly to compact.
- Drizzle melted butter over the tops of the muffin cups.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until golden brown and set in the center.
- Let cool slightly before removing from the tin. Dust with powdered sugar or serve with maple syrup if desired.
