Description

A soft, pull-apart bread with a rich buttery flavor and a golden crust, perfect as a side, snack, or breakfast treat.


Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1/2 cup warm milk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted (plus more for greasing)
  • 1 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Activate the yeast by combining it with warm water and a pinch of sugar. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar, and salt. Add in the yeast mixture and warm milk.
  3. Knead the dough until smooth and elastic, about 8-10 minutes.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm spot until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
  5. Punch down the dough and divide it into small balls (about the size of golf balls).
  6. Dip each dough ball into melted butter and place them close together in a greased bundt pan or baking dish.
  7. Cover and let rise again for 30-45 minutes until puffy.
  8. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown on top.
  10. Let cool slightly before serving warm.
